Born: June 24, 1726
Melchior Fischer was born on June 24th 1726, in Heilbrunn Wurtenberg.
Fischer trained in carpentry in Germany. Fischer came to America in 1750 and settled in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he served as a master carpenter for three years. Fischer traveled south along with several of the original builders in the Wachovia tract who brought the artfulness of the Old World style to the New World.
Fischer moved to North Carolina in 1774. He and his family settled in Freidberg. His son George served in Friedberg and Salem.
